hitch hikers?

Is it customary to post when you have found a hitchhiker? I found
one a couple of months back in Texas, an Alien HH. I wasn't sure
how the people who planted them tracked them or got them back.

I'm new to this, but I believe there is a place to do that if you go to
frequently asked questions in the letterboxing in North America site, click on FAQ,
click on Hitchhikers, Cuckoo clues, and Mstery Boxes and you will see the
link. It's called the hitchhiker tracking page.
Good luck,
Deb

It's nice to see them move around - especially for the planters! I prefer not to know where you put them. I enjoy getting them by surprise, like the extra money found in the pants pocket on laundry day.

Just curious....

I had an Alien HH that I haven't heard from in ages - wondering if it's mine?
Any details would be appreciated!

A good place to post about hitchhikers is:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/letterbox_travellers/

Opinions on posting about hitchhikers vary, but by posting there, you
can be more assured that you will not offend anyone, since most
members want to hear about them!

You may also want to check out Wanda and Pete's "Hitcher's Progress"
page:

http://alum.wpi.edu/~p_miner/travelers

A huge number of these little guys are tracked there.

Also a good rule of thumb is to only post about where it has already
been, and to not post about where you left it, potentially spoiling
the suprise.

I like to hear where my HHs are are. My kids like to track it on a map too.
